The Uveneer system creates affordable, long-lasting aesthetic composite veneers in a single visit, with no need for injections and with minimal to NO drilling of the healthy tooth structure.

If you want to improve and restore your smile from one tooth to a full set of teeth without drilling out your healthy tooth structure or spending a fortune, then composite veneer with Uveneer is your solution! Composite veneers are an integral part of contemporary restorative dental practice for many years and are often called minimally invasive dentistry due to their conservative approach and affordable cost (due to no lab fees and less chair time).

Porcelain veneers are more expensive than composite veneers and can cost 2 to 3 times more.

How Uveneer Work?

The dentist prepares the tooth by gently roughening the surface with a diamond disc then applying a bonding material. Then composite resin (white filling material) that matches the shade of your tooth is applied to the area. The dentist presses the correct Uveneer template on the composite that is laid the tooth and light-cures the composite through the clear Uveneer template and removes it. After removing the template, a beautifully shaped veneer is created. No need to shape or even polish as the outcome is perfect. All of this happens in just one visit! This composite veneer system has proven to be durable for many years, and in Dr Sigal Jacobson's clinic, we have a long-lasting warranty included for the procedure.

What is the difference between Porcelain Veneers and Composite Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of lab-made porcelain adhered to the outer surface of the tooth. Composite veneers are resin affixed directly to the outer surface. Both are made to match your teeth and improve your overall smile.

Time and procedure

Composite veneers can be done chair-side in the same visit. The resin is strongly bonded to your teeth, without removing a layer of your tooth, cured and then polished. The same way as a filling is done. You can walk out the same day with a new smile!

Porcelain veneers typically take at least two to three visits. A thin layer of your teeth must be removed, an impression of the teeth is required and the mould is sent out to a lab. While you are waiting on your veneer(s) to be fabricated you will wear temporary veneers. When you come back for your next visit, your porcelain veneers will be bonded to your teeth with cement.

Durability

With proper care, porcelain veneers should last 10-15 years. Composite veneers longevity is can be also similar but will show slight surface changes with time which can be touched up at your regular dental visits. If composite veneers are chipped is it very easy to repair and is done directly in the chair in a matter of a few minutes. However, if damage were to happen to a porcelain veneer, it would have to be replaced and cannot be repaired.

Porcelain veneers are not recommended to patients that are clenching or grinding their teeth. They may delaminate and break. Because a composite is a material that wears more like the tooth they are safer for the people who grind.

Aesthetics

While composite resin still looks great, porcelain is unmatched. An incredible benefit of porcelain veneers is they are stain-resistant. If you receive this type of veneer on most of your upper and lower teeth, this could mean no more having to whiten your natural teeth. Composite resin will slightly stain with years like your natural teeth.

Another thing to note is porcelain veneers are not reversible as it is involved some teeth cutting. Composite veneers, if you were to be unhappy at any point you can replace, top them with a different shade and even remove them. (I never had a patient asking me to remove them as the satisfaction rate is high.
